Economy Skynest™ is the world's first sleep pods in the sky.

Skynest features six individual lie-flat nests designed for Economy and Premium Economy passengers. Book a four-hour session to leave your seat behind, recharge mid-journey, and enjoy a quiet, private space to rest.

How Skynest works

Skynest is an add-on

You can book a four-hour Skynest session in addition to your Economy or Premium Economy seat. Sessions are planned outside meal service and one session can be booked per passenger, per flight. For all-flight comfort, explore our other options.

Who can book Skynest?

Skynest is available to Economy and Premium Economy passengers aged 15 years and older. Depending on your travel group, you may want to check out our other comfort options such as Skycouch™.

Accessing the Skynest

You'll need to get in and out of the nest on your own, which may involve bending, kneeling, crawling, or climbing. Top and middle nests are elevated, while bottom nests are at floor level and may be easier to access.

Booking Skynest

Skynest is available on our Boeing 787-9 V5 aircraft, on select long-haul flights between New York and Auckland. Add a session when booking your flight, or contact our team to add it to an existing booking if available.

Skynest access

Access to Skynest requires bending, kneeling, crawling, or climbing into the space.

Top nests

Top nests (Nests 1 and 2) are accessed from small central steps, similar to a ladder, before climbing in. There are hand rails for stability. Top nests are approximately 1.6m (65 inches) from the ground.

Middle nests

Middle nests (Nests 3 and 4) can generally be accessed while standing. You can sit on it and shuffle in, or get in with some help from a step on the ladder. Middle nests are approximately 1m (36 inches) from the ground.

Bottom nests

Bottom nests (Nests 5 and 6) are at ground level, so require bending down to enter the nest. Bottom nests are approximately 10cm (4 inches) from the ground.

There are six nests available for six nesters at a time.Skycouch is a row of Economy seats that convert to a lie-flat couch space. Enjoy Skycouch solo, in a pair, or with family.
How it worksSkynest is your own lie-flat space to enjoy for a four-hour session. You'll be away from your seat for that time to recharge in comfort and enjoy a world of your own. Skycouch seats are like standard Economy seats, but with adjustable leg rests. Raise them halfway for a relaxed recline, or all the way up to create a lie-flat couch space.

Skycouch provides additional space to spread out in a seat that's yours for the entire journey.
