Sustainability Overview

Our approach
When New Zealand thrives, we thrive too.
Sustainability at Air New Zealand recognises our deep connection to this place we call home, and the unique role we hold as Aotearoa New Zealand's national airline.
Aviation is critical for our country's connection to each other and to the world, and for business, trade and tourism. But it also creates greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to the climate crisis.
Our Sustainability Framework guides our work to play a positive role in Aotearoa New Zealand for the long-term and is built on three pillars:
Our people, communities and suppliers are at the heart of everything we do.
We're working towards net zero carbon emissions from jet fuel by 2050, and helping address the impact of our operations.
We're guardians of the airline for our customers, our investors, and the places we connect. We act responsibly with the future in mind.
You can find out more in our 2026 Annual Report, 2026 Climate Statement, and on our sustainability reporting page.
