Before you leave for the airport
Give your pet a light meal and a little water at least 2 hours before your flight.
Before placing your pet in their carrier, give them time to go to the toilet, stretch and move around.

Before being loaded onto the aircraft, your pet will wait in a separate area away from other checked baggage.
Pets are usually loaded onto the aircraft last, so they do not spend longer than needed waiting on the tarmac.
Your pet will travel in a pressurised, climate-controlled aircraft hold. The lights are dimmed during the flight to help keep pets calm.
