Make changes online
If you booked with Air New Zealand, either on our website, the Air NZ app, or through our contact centre, you're able to make changes online. You can also sign in to your Koru account or the Air NZ app to make changes.
Change your flight
You can change the time of your flight, the date of your flight, or the destination you're flying to. If you’ve booked a flexi fare you’ll be able to make more changes.
Change fees
You can change your flight details within 24 hours of your initial booking without a change fee, but a fare difference may apply.
Each fare type has different inclusions and flexibility so check the fare rules that apply to your booking.
The following fees and surcharges may apply:
- Change fees - fees for changing your booking. This could include a new time, date or destination.
- Fare difference - the difference between the original fare purchased and the new flight fare.
- Service fees - handling changes when bookings or changes are made through our Contact Centre.
- Tax fees - fees that could incur if your destination or the tax rate changes after the original fare is purchased.
We'll let you know what fees your changes will incur before your decide to go ahead and change your booking.
Bookings made through a travel agent
If you've booked through a travel agent or a different airline, our Contact Centre are able to help with some changes. However, for any changes that impact fare price, you'll need to contact your travel agent or the airline directly.
Cancel your flight
If you would like to cancel your flight, you can do this online through manage booking.
Cancellation fees may be charged. These vary depending on your point of origin and final destination, and your fare type.
Each fare type has different inclusions and flexibility so check the fare rules that apply to your booking. If you have a refundable ticket we will also refund your card payment fee.
Refunds
We offer refunds for flexirefund, worksflexi, premiumflexi and businessflexi tickets on our domestic and Trans-Tasman routes. All our other fares are non-refundable unless specified. Refer to our fare rules for details.
In the unfortunate event of the passing of an immediate family member, including a travelling companion, we are here to assist. Learn more about our compassionate fares.
Certain third-party fees such as taxes, airport charges, and payments to the Voluntary Emissions Contribution Programme cannot be refunded, unless required by applicable law. These costs have already been covered by us.
