What to expect during construction
Construction on the new lounge has started, and throughout the build, customers will continue to enjoy lounge access across a mix of options, including our current lounge and The Lookout Lounge, so you can still relax and recharge before your flight.
Construction will take place in two phases:
- Phase one: The current lounge will remain open with reduced capacity while work is completed on the new Koru Premier Lounge.
- Phase two: Once one of the new lounges opens, the current Koru Lounge will be redeveloped and is expected to open by the end of 2027.
If you're travelling through Auckland International during construction, we'll notify you with everything you need to know closer to the time.

Introducing The Lookout Lounge
The Lookout Lounge celebrates the Kiwi spirit of exploration and adventure. It's a place to pause, breathe, and take in the view ahead of your journey.
The Lookout Lounge is open while we work towards upgrading the Auckland International Koru Lounge, providing travellers with a comfortable space to relax and recharge before take-off.
Keep an eye on your Air NZ app or text messages at airport check-in for information about which lounge you're invited to visit before your flight.
Relax and recharge before your flight
The Lookout Lounge offers a welcoming and comfortable experience, with the same food selection served in the Koru Lounge. Guests can also enjoy made-to-order dishes during breakfast and dinner.
Our full selection of New Zealand beer and wine, along with spirits, is available from the bar, with cocktails served during the evening.
Bathrooms are located outside the lounge, approximately a one-minute walk away within the terminal.
