Elite Partner tier benefits
It's important to note that these benefits will apply when you travel on an Air New Zealand operated and ticketed flight and when travelling on selected routes with our alliance partners (Air China, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, United and Virgin Australia).
Lounge access
Elite Partner members may access all Air New Zealand and many partner airline lounges when departing on an Air New Zealand ticketed and operated flight. You'll also receive access when travelling on an Air New Zealand flight number with some of our alliance partners on selected routes:
- Air China on flights between New Zealand and Beijing
- Cathay Pacific on flights between Auckland and Hong Kong
- Singapore Airlines on flights between New Zealand and Singapore
- United on flights between Auckland and San Francisco
- Virgin Australia on flights between New Zealand and Australia
Airpoints Elite Partner members may also invite one additional guest (subject to space available) into Air New Zealand Lounges (excluding Koru Express) and some partner lounges.
Complimentary frequent flyer seating
Elite Partner members have access to our frequent flyer seating areas towards the front of the aircraft on most Air New Zealand flights. These can be booked during the Seat Select process when booking online, by visiting My Bookings or by calling our contact centre. Frequent flyer seating is available on a first come first serve basis on any eligible fare purchased.

Priority travel benefits
Priority check-in: To speed up your journey through the airport, Airpoints Elite members are invited to check in at the Premium counter when travelling on an Air New Zealand operated flight or the Star Alliance Gold counter when travelling on a Star Alliance flight. When travelling on flights operated by any of our partner airlines please check in with the operating carrier.
Priority boarding: Once boarding commences, you may board at your leisure on our flights.
Priority baggage claim: You will be among the first to collect your baggage after disembarking your flight.
Priority wait-listing: If the Air New Zealand flight you want to travel on is full, as an Elite Partner member you can be priority wait-listed in case a seat becomes available. Wait-listing is not available on all fare types or with reward tickets. Priority wait-listing must be requested through your booking agent or if you have booked online simply call our contact centre.
Priority airport standby: You will be given priority standby if you are at the airport and wish to travel on an alternative flight. Standbys are not available with certain fare types, such as reward tickets or grabaseat™. Additional airfare difference costs, applicable penalties and service fees may apply.
