Official Sweepstakes Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
MUST BE A LEGAL RESIDENT OF THE FIFTY (50) UNITED STATES OR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, EXCLUDING NEW YORK AND FLORIDA, AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE, AND POSSESS A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE (OR TRAVEL WITH A GUEST WHO HAS A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AND IS AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE) TO PARTICIPATE. VOID IN PUERTO RICO AND ALL U.S. TERRITORIES AND POSSESSIONS AND WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: AS DESCRIBED BELOW, THESE RULES REQUIRE THAT DISPUTES BE RESOLVED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS, RATHER THAN BY CLASS ACTION AND LIMIT YOUR RIGHTS AND REMEDIES IN THE EVENT OF A DISPUTE. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE RULES YOU MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE SWEEPSTAKES.
THE SPONSOR ("SPONSOR") OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS AIR NEW ZEALAND LIMITED ("Sponsor"), 222 N Pacific Coast Highway Suite 1550, El Segundo, CA 90245.
1. SWEEPSTAKES: The Amazing Race Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") will begin on September 30, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET")/6:00 a.m. Pacific Time ("PT") and ends on October 21, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET/8:59 p.m. PT (the "Promotion Period"). Sponsor's clock is the official timekeeping device for the Sweepstakes.
2. ELIGIBILITY: Open only to individuals who, at the time of entry into the Sweepstakes, are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, excluding New York and Florida, who are at least 21 years of age, and have a valid unencumbered driver's license that is recognized for driving in New Zealand (or travel with a guest that is at least 21 years of age and who has a valid unencumbered driver's license that is recognized for driving in New Zealand). Employees, owners, shareholders, officers, directors, and their respective immediate family members and/or household members of Sponsor, Paramount Skydance Corporation, CBS Broadcasting Inc., Worldrace Productions, Inc., ChristchurchNZ Limited (the "Sweepstakes Entities") and each of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, prize providers, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members and/or household members of each of the foregoing entities are not eligible to participate in this Sweepstakes. "Immediate Family Members" means parents, stepparents, legal guardians, children, stepchildren, siblings, stepsiblings or spouses, regardless of where they live. "Household Members" means those people who share the same residence at least three months a year whether or not related.
3. HOW TO ENTER: To enter the Sweepstakes, visit the Sweepstakes website at https://airnewzealand.com/nz-sweeps during the Promotion Period, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the entry form with the required information and click the Submit button. Upon Sponsor's receipt of a completed entry form submitted in compliance with these Official Rules, the individual submitting the entry will be deemed an entrant (the "Entrant" collectively "Entrants") and will receive one (1) entry (the "Entry") into the Sweepstakes. Entrants will be required to provide their name and email address and agree to these Official Rules.
Limit one (1) Entry per person/per email address into the Sweepstakes. A person may only use one email address to enter. Any attempt by any person to obtain more than one (1) Entry by using multiple/different email addresses, identities or any other methods may result in the voiding of all Entries submitted by that person and disqualification at Sponsor's sole discretion. Automated Entries are prohibited and will result in disqualification if detected. Standard internet access and usage charges may apply; if entering via a mobile device standard data and message rates may apply.
In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of an Entrant, the Entry will be deemed submitted by the "Authorized Account Holder" of the email address associated with the Entry. Authorized Account Holder is defined as the person assigned to an email address by an internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses. Proof of sending or submitting an Entry will not be deemed proof of receipt by Sponsor. Receipt of Entries will not be acknowledged. All Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.
By entering the Sweepstakes, each Entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor which shall be final and binding in all respects. Each Entrant also acknowledges and agrees to the Sponsor Conditions of Carriage and Privacy Policy incorporated herein by reference. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any person that Sponsor determines in its sole discretion to be in violation of any term contained in these Official Rules. Sponsor's decision not to enforce a specific provision of these Official Rules does not constitute a waiver of that provision or of the Official Rules generally.
4. PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES ("ARV"):
One Grand Prize ("Prize") is available to be awarded.
The Grand Prize consists of a seven (7) day, six (6) night trip (the "Trip") for the winner ("Winner") and one (1) eligible guest ("Guest") to Christchurch, New Zealand.
The Trip will consist of the following:
Flights: One (1) roundtrip flight to Christchurch, New Zealand; flying Air New Zealand Business Premier from an Air New Zealand gateway airport (i.e., LAX, SFO, HOU, JFK or HNL) ("Gateway Airport") to Auckland; and one (1) roundtrip Air New Zealand Economy flight from Auckland to Christchurch. If Winner does not reside near a Gateway Airport, Winner and Guest will each be provided one (1) roundtrip, economy class flight from a domestic airport near Winner's residence ("Domestic Airport") to a Gateway Airport.
Winner is solely responsible for transportation and related costs for Winner and Guest to and from the Domestic Airport; including without limitation, ground transportation, parking, and any other incidentals.
Transfers and transport: Airport transfers provided between Christchurch Airport and designated hotel accommodations. Three-day car rental provided for travel between Christchurch and Kaikōura with Touchdown Car Rentals, and round trip (return) TranzAlpine Scenic Plus train tickets between Christchurch and Arthurs Pass.
Accommodation: Three (3) nights at Sudima Christchurch City Hotel including breakfast; one (1) night at Flockhill Lodge including dinner, breakfast and signature Farm Tour experience; and two (2) nights at Hapuku Lodge & Treehouses. Each accommodation is valid for a consecutive stay, subject to availability, and their standard terms and conditions.
Activities: Christchurch Attractions Botanic Gardens Tour (operates daily October-April, and Thursday-Sunday from May-September) and Christchurch Tram Tour, Amiki Kai Bites food walking tour, Waka On Avon Mahika Kai Tour, Lunch at C1 Espresso Café, Alpine Jet Thrills Jetboat Canyon Safari, Dolphin Encounter Dolphin Swim or Watching, and Kaikoura EcoZip Experience.
The Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") of the Grand Prize is USD $34,264. Actual retail value of the Grand Prize may vary based upon the location of the Domestic Airport, date of booking, any airfare fluctuations and seasonal pricing. If the actual value of the Grand Prize is less than the ARV stated, the Winner will not be entitled to any payment for the price difference.
All prize bookings, (flight, hotel, transfer, car rental and experiences) are subject to availability at the time of booking, itinerary changes and other restrictions. Travel blackout dates apply, and the Trip cannot be taken between December 1, 2026 – January 31, 2027, and May 23, 2027 - July 2, 2027 ("Blackout Periods").
Winner is solely responsible for any and all costs or expenses associated with acceptance and/or use of the Prize other than those specifically stated as included in the Trip; including without limitation, ground transportation to and from the Domestic Airport, and any hotel accommodations and activities (other than those provided by Sponsor), meals, parking, excess baggage fees, travel protection insurance and other expenses not specifically stated as included in the Trip. Other hotel fees are not included and, if applicable, will be paid by Winner at the time of check-out.
Winner and Guest must travel on the same itinerary. All Prize details are at the sole discretion of the Sponsor; provided Winner shall select the Trip travel dates subject to availability and Blackout Periods.
The Prize and all of its components are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, cannot be redeemed for cash, and cannot be resold or used in conjunction with any other offers. For bookings where vouchers are provided, the full value of voucher must be used in a single transaction. Any remaining credit will not be refunded, exchanged or transferred. Once Trip dates are confirmed, cancellations within thirty (30) days of arrival or failure to arrive will result in the Prize being forfeited. Any additional meals, beverages, activities, transfers or incidental expenses not specifically included in the Prize are at the Winner's own cost.
Trip must be booked directly through Sponsor or an agent authorized by Sponsor. The Prize may not be combined with any other offer and air travel and/or hotel may not qualify for frequent flier miles, award points or other benefits. An email will be sent to Winner with instructions for how to book the Prize. All travel must be booked by January 28, 2027 and completed by August 31, 2027.
If Winner does not possess a valid unencumbered driver's license that is recognized for driving in New Zealand, Winner must be accompanied by a Guest who is at least 21 years of age with a valid unencumbered driver's license that is recognized for driving in New Zealand. A Guest, who is a minor, may accompany Winner only if Winner is such Guest's parent or legal guardian. Winner and Guest must complete all documentation required by Sponsor prior to ticketing. Guest (or, if Guest is a minor, Guest's parent or legal guardian) must execute and return a Liability Release and, where legally permissible, a Publicity Release prior to issuance of travel documents.
Airline carriers' regulations and conditions apply; see Legal Terms and Conditions | Air New Zealand. Once Trip dates have been booked, no changes (including name changes), extensions or substitutions are permitted except at Sponsor's sole discretion. If Winner elects to travel without a Guest, no additional compensation will be awarded to Winner. Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen tickets or travel vouchers. Once travel commences, no unscheduled stopovers are permitted. If Winner initiates an unscheduled stopover during the Trip, Winner will be charged full airfare from the stopover point for the remaining segments including the return trip. Any hotel cancellations or changes to hotel reservations after confirmation must be made with Sponsor directly, and the Winner is solely responsible for any charges or fees arising from such changes. Sponsor is not responsible if Winner and/or Guest are denied access to any aircraft or hotel due to their conduct. In such event, Winner and/or Guest will be solely responsible for any expenses incurred and the Prize may be forfeited in whole or in part. Winner and Guest must comply with all hotel check-in requirements including, without limitation, all incidental charges, any deposits, and/or credit card deposits required for incidentals. Airline tickets are subject to the rules and regulations of each domestic carrier and/or Air New Zealand. Released Parties (as defined below) are not liable for any expenses incurred due to flight cancellations and/or delays.
Winner and Guest must have, and are solely responsible for paying all costs and fees associated with obtaining, all necessary identification and/or travel documents required by the New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA); including but not limited to, a Real ID and a valid United States Passport with an expiration date greater than six (6) months from each traveler's return flight to the United States. The airline carrier, destination and/or hotel venue may require negative COVID-19 tests results or valid vaccination documentation, and any such requirements may be subject to change. A valid passport and credit card or cash deposit may be required at hotel check-in for incidental charges.
Airport, airline and hotel policies, CDC guidelines and the recommendations of health officials must be followed. In addition, Winner and Guest should be aware of and comply with government guidelines regarding travel restrictions and mandatory quarantines before visiting any destination. Winner and Guest acknowledge that any public location where people are present provides an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other illnesses and Sponsor cannot guarantee that any person will not be exposed during the Trip. By accepting the Prize, Winner and Guest, expressly assume the risk that during the Trip they may be exposed to COVID-19 or other communicable or infectious diseases, viruses or illnesses. Winner and Guest expressly understand that these risks include contracting COVID-19 or other communicable and/or infectious diseases, viruses or illnesses and the associated dangers, medical complications and physical and mental injuries, both foreseen and unforeseen that may result. Winner and Guest irrevocably waive all claims against Released Parties (as defined below) and agree that the Released Parties will have no liability or responsibility and shall be held harmless by Winner and Guest for any claim arising in connection with a potentially heightened risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other communicable or infectious diseases, viruses or illnesses arising as a result of travel related activities wherever, whenever or however they may occur.
All income and other taxes, including, but not limited to, federal, state, and local, are the sole responsibility of the Winner. Winner will be required to provide a valid IRS Form W-9 prior to receipt of the Prize. Winner will be issued an IRS 1099 tax form for the ARV of the Prize.
No assignment, transfer, conversion to cash or cash redemption, or substitution of any Prize, or any portion of the Prize, is permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize, or any of its components, with a prize of comparable or greater value should the Prize, or any of its components, become unavailable or for any other reason needs to be exchanged. Prize is solely for personal use and may not be used in conjunction with any other promotion.
5. WINNER SELECTION AND ODDS OF WINNING
Potential Winner will be selected in a random drawing (the "Drawing") on or about October 30, 2026, from among all eligible Entries received during the Promotion Period. The Drawing will be conducted by Sponsor or its designee, whose decision on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes shall be final and binding in all respects. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible Entries received during the Promotion Period.
6. WINNER NOTIFICATION AND PRIZE CLAIM
Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) (a "Potential Winner") from the Entries received. Potential Winner is subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. Potential Winner will be notified on or about October 30, 2026, by email to the address provided on their Entry form. The email notification will include an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release and where legally permissible a Publicity Release (the "Prize Claim Documents"). Potential Winner must respond to the notification and complete, execute and return the Prize Claim Documents within seventy-two (72) hours of the time and date notice or attempted notice is sent. If Potential Winner is found to be ineligible, fails to provide the required documentation within the stated time, or if the Prize notice is returned as undeliverable, Sponsor will select an alternate Potential Winner by random drawing from among the remaining eligible Entries. Up to two (2) alternate Potential Winners for the Prize may be selected after which the Prize will remain unawarded.
7. PUBLICITY
The Winner will be announced on a The Amazing Race Episode on or about December 9, 2026. Winner's acceptance of the Prize constitutes permission for Sponsor to use the Winner's and Guest's name, photograph, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice and address (city and state) worldwide and in perpetuity for any and all purposes, including, but not limited to, promotional and marketing purposes, without further notice or compensation.
As a condition of accepting the Prize, Winner and Guest agree to participate in and cooperate with reasonable promotional and content capture activities during the Trip which may include photography and video recording conducted by a Sponsor-designated content creator. Such content may be used by Sponsor and its designees for promotional and marketing purposes in any media worldwide in perpetuity without additional notice or compensation unless prohibited by law. Winner and Guest agree to execute such releases, waivers and other documents as Sponsor may reasonably require to effectuate the foregoing.
8. IMPROPER CONDUCT
Sponsor may disqualify any Entrant from participation in the Sweepstakes, and/or refuse to award the Prize, if Entrant engages in any conduct that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, deems to be improper, unfair or otherwise adverse to the operation of the Sweepstakes or detrimental to the Sweepstakes, Sponsor, and/or any Sweepstakes Entity. Such improper conduct includes, without limitation, falsifying personal information required during entry or Prize claim, violating any term or condition stated herein, accumulating entries through methods such as automated computer scripts or any other programming techniques, allowing others to use Entrant's personal information for the purpose of accumulating entries, or intentionally trying to defraud, reverse engineer, disassemble or otherwise tamper with the computer programs in connection with this Sweepstakes, and/or violating any term or condition of any airline, hotel or Sweepstakes Entity. Winner agrees that Sponsor may void the Prize or any part of the Prize that Winner may have won and/or require the return of the Prize or any part of the Prize that Winner may have won as a result of such improper conduct by Winner or Guest. Winner further acknowledges that any forfeiture of the Prize and/or return of the Prize shall in no way prevent Sponsor from pursuing other avenues of recourse, such as criminal or civil proceedings in connection with such conduct. WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE SWEEPSTAKES. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, EACH OF THE SWEEPSTAKES ENTITIES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS' FEES) FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR SUCH ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
9. INTEGRITY OF THE SWEEPSTAKES
If for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including, but not limited to, by reason of infection by computer virus, worms, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical, human or other failures or errors, or any event or cause beyond Sponsor's control, which Sponsor, in its sole discretion believes could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Sweepstakes and select the Winner in a random drawing from among all remaining eligible non-suspect Entries received prior to the action taken or in such other manner as Sponsor may deem fair and appropriate.
10. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION/RELEASE
Sponsor in its sole discretion may designate an administrator to handle Winner selection and notification on Sponsor's behalf. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
By participating, each Entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor which shall be final and binding in all respects. By participating and/or accepting a Prize, each Entrant agrees to release Sponsor and the Sweepstakes Entities, and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising and/or promotion agencies and prize suppliers and each of their respective parent companies and each such company's officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all actions, claims, liabilities, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner directly or indirectly from participation in this Sweepstakes, including any Sweepstakes related activity and/or acceptance or use of a Prize including but not limited to any travel or Prize related activities. The Released Parties shall not be liable for (i) any injuries, losses, liabilities or damages of any kind including personal injury or death caused by the Prize trip or resulting from acceptance, possession or use of the Prize trip, (ii) telephone system, telephone or computer hardware, software or other technical or computer malfunctions, lost connections, disconnections, delays or transmission errors, (iii) data corruption, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of Entries or other materials; (iv) late, lost, delayed, stolen, misdirected, incomplete, unreadable, inaccurate, garbled or unintelligible Entries, communications, or affidavits, regardless of the method of transmission; (v) any inability of Winner to accept or use a Prize or portion thereof and such Prize or portion thereof shall be forfeited; (vi) any printing, typographical, human, administrative, technological or other errors in the administration or conduct of the Sweepstakes and/or in any materials or activities associated with the Sweepstakes, including without limitation, in any related advertising or promotion of this Sweepstakes and/or in these Official Rules. In the event of any ambiguities or errors in these Official Rules, Sponsor reserves the right to modify these Official Rules for clarification purposes or to correct such ambiguities or errors.
Sponsor is not responsible if the Sweepstakes cannot take place or be conducted as planned, or if any Prize cannot be awarded due to travel cancellations, delays or interruptions due to acts of God, acts of war, acts of government or civil authority, natural disasters, weather, epidemics or pandemics, or acts of terrorism or any other event outside of Sponsor's control. Released Parties disclaim any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participating in or accessing or downloading information in connection with Sweepstakes.
California Residents: By entering this Sweepstakes, California residents agree that the releases set forth in these Official Rules shall apply to all unknown or unanticipated results of the occurrences described herein, as well as those known or anticipated, and such Entrants hereby knowingly waive any and all rights and protections under California Civil Code Section 1542, which section reads as follows: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."
New Jersey Residents: Pursuant to the New Jersey Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty and Notice Act ("TCCWNA"), N.J.S.A. 56:12-14 et seq., these Official Rules are intended to comply with TCCWNA. In the event of a conflict between these Official Rules and the TCCWNA, the terms of the TCCWNA take precedence and will control. The following provisions of these Official Rules shall not be applicable to New Jersey residents: (i) provisions which limit the Sponsor's liability for any tortious action or breach of contract by Sponsor; and (ii) provisions which limit the amount of damages which may be sought for any tortious action or breach of contract by Sponsor.
11. INDEMNITY
Each Entrant in this Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, the Winner, hereby releases and agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all claims, damages, actions, liability, loss, injury or expense including reasonable attorneys' fees and costs arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the Sweepstakes, participation in any activity related to the Sweepstakes, and/or acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a Prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death and property damage arising therefrom.
12. CLASS ACTION WAIVER/ LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED, ENTRANT AGREES THAT: (1) ANY AND ALL DISPUTES, CLAIMS AND CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR CONNECTED WITH THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR ANY PRIZE AWARDED SHALL BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY, WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION; (2) ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS AND AWARDS SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS INCURRED, INCLUDING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ENTERING THIS SWEEPSTAKES, BUT IN NO EVENT ATTORNEYS' FEES; AND (3) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ENTRANT BE PERMITTED TO OBTAIN AWARDS FOR, AND ENTRANT HEREBY WAIVES ALL RIGHTS TO CLAIM, INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES AND ANY OTHER DAMAGES, OTHER THAN FOR ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES, AND ANY AND ALL RIGHTS TO HAVE DAMAGES MULTIPLIED OR OTHERWISE INCREASED.
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE RULES YOU MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE SWEEPSTAKES.
13. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THE SWEEPSTAKES AND PRIZES ARE PROVIDED 'AS IS' WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
14. GOVERNING LAW
This Sweepstakes is governed by United States law and is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of an Entrant, Winner, Guest, Sponsor or Sweepstakes Entities in connection with this Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California without giving effect to the conflict of laws and rules thereof, and shall take place in the federal and/or state courts of the State of California, Los Angeles County. Entrants agree not to raise the defense of forum non conveniens.
If any provision of these Official Rules is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, all remaining provisions hereof shall remain in full force and effect.
15. PRIVACY POLICY
Any personal information supplied by Entrant to Sponsor will be subject to Sponsor's privacy policy posted at https://airnewzealand.com/privacy-policy. By entering the Sweepstakes, Entrant grants Sponsor permission to collect, use and share Entrant's email address and any other personally identifiable information with the other Sweepstakes sponsors and partners for the purpose of Sweepstakes administration and Prize fulfillment, and Entrant acknowledges that Entrant has read and accepted Sponsor's privacy policy.
16. WINNER'S LIST
