Inbound: A new Auckland International Lounge experience

We're excited to share our plans for a brand new Air New Zealand Koru Lounge that is coming to Auckland International Airport, and it's set to completely transform your travel experience.

There will be more space, more comfort, and a bold new design that's all about helping you settle in before take-off. Whether you're stretching out, grabbing a bite, or need some quiet time to focus, this will be a space for you to relax in style.

We're planning to start construction early 2026 and we're excited to share a first look at what's ahead. This new lounge has been shaped by customer feedback — and we can't wait to bring it to life. There's plenty to look forward to.

Two brand new lounges with more space

We're nearly doubling the overall size of our lounge by creating two brand new lounges

An exclusive lounge for Airpoints Elite, Elite Partners (when travelling with Elite member) and Air New Zealand Business Premier customers, and a second for Airpoints Gold, Star Alliance Gold, Koru, Elite Partners and Airpoints Silver members (with eVouchers).

More space means more ways to make the lounge your own

Whether you're looking to work, unwind, focus, or connect, you'll find thoughtfully designed and dedicated areas tailored to suit your travel style before take-off.

A bold new design inspired by Aotearoa

A new design will bring the beauty of Aotearoa to life, with spaces inspired by the country's unique sights and landscapes. Rich colours, natural textures, bespoke furnishings, and thoughtfully curated lighting and art will come together to create a lounge that feels distinctly New Zealand — warm, welcoming, and unmistakably ours.

This transformed travel experience will be designed for you to relax in style and include:

What to expect during construction

Construction on the new lounge is expected to begin in early 2026, and throughout the build, customers will continue to enjoy lounge access across a mix of options, including our current lounge and a temporary pop-up space, so you can still relax and recharge before your flight.

Construction will take place in two phases:

  • Phase one: The current lounge will remain open with reduced capacity while work is completed on the new lounge for Airpoints Elite and Business Premier customers.
  • Phase two: Once one of the new lounges opens, the current lounge will be redeveloped and is expected to open by the end of 2027.

If you're travelling through Auckland International during construction, we'll notify you with everything you need to know closer to the time.

We have more exciting plans to share with you on lounge improvements soon, so watch this space for further updates.
