Cathay Pacific

Our alliance with Cathay Pacific brings you two return flights a day between Auckland and Hong Kong, increasing to three return flights a day over the New Zealand summer months.

For our Airpoints™ members, it also means you can enjoy some of your benefits when you book through Air New Zealand and travel on Cathay Pacific between Auckland and Hong Kong, including earning Airpoints Dollars and Status Points at the same rate as you would on Air New Zealand, carry the same baggage allowance, and take advantage of the same Airpoints Elite and Gold benefits.

Note: The alliance with Cathay Pacific only applies to flights between Auckland and Hong Kong, it does not include flights between Hong Kong and London.

Cathay Pacific is one of our Airpoints™ Qualifying Partner Airlines, which means the Status Points earned on these flights between Auckland and Hong Kong can be put towards the required amount to earn or retain your Tier Status. Check the Status Points page for details on how many Status Points you need to reach our different Airpoints Tier Statuses.

At the airport, check-in with the operating airline. For information on meals, entertainment, special assistance, travelling with children or infants, children travelling alone (unaccompanied minors) - contact the operating airline.
