Excess baggage charges
The tables below show all the countries we fly from, and the excess baggage fees you may need to pay when flying from those countries.
If your trip involves another airline, its baggage allowance may apply to your entire journey. Your ticket will show how many bags you can bring.
Please allow extra check-in time at the airport if you have excess baggage.
These charges apply to any items not already included in:
- Your ticket
- Any Prepaid Extra Bags you've purchased
- Your Airpoints membership benefits
There are simple ways to save money and time before you get to the airport. See if any of these tips can help you save on excess baggage fees.
Journeys on more than one airline
If you have connecting flights with another airline on the same ticket, your excess baggage fee applies until you collect your bags. If you check in your baggage for another flight, you may have to pay that airline's excess baggage fees as well. Please check the other airline's excess baggage policies, as we can't manage them on your behalf.
The USA and Canada have special rules for excess baggage fees. If your ticketed journey starts or ends in the USA, and you have several check-in points, you'll pay the same excess baggage fee at each airport, regardless of airlines involved in your itinerary.

Customers with existing bookings will have access to the prices effective at the time of ticket issue. For tickets purchased up to and including 28 September, you can view the previous fees here.
