We want our most frequent flyers to have an exceptional journey every time on every flight, starting even before you get on the plane.
As an Elite, Gold or Silver member you can experience a wide range of benefits at the airport whilst waiting for your flight.
Airpoints Elite members receive five complimentary Koru Valet parking vouchers. Each one entitles you to one day's (24 hours) complimentary valet parking at Auckland or Christchurch Airports.
At Wellington Airport you can use your vouchers in the Air New Zealand Parking Pre-paid facility located on Stewart Duff Drive. Visit our Air New Zealand Parking site to book your parking and use your vouchers.
When you are at the airport and you wish to travel on an alternative flight, if a seat becomes available you will be given priority standby. Standbys are not available in conjunction with reward tickets or grabaseat™ and Smart Saver fares.
Air New Zealand has lounges throughout New Zealand and at six international destinations that can be used prior to the departure of your Air New Zealand flight. In many of our overseas destinations we also provide access for members at partner lounges owned and operated by other providers:
Elite and Gold members transiting in Los Angeles en-route to/from London Heathrow on flights NZ2 and NZ1 are also able to gain lounge access. Passengers must pass through transit passport formalities and may enter the lounge once gaining admittance onto the departure concourse.
Elite and Gold members are also now able to use Virgin Australia lounges when connecting from an Air New Zealand trans-Tasman flight and flying domestically in Australia with Virgin Australia. These lounges are located in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Mackay and Perth.
Each membership year Silver members receive two complimentary one-entry lounge passes for all Koru lounges within New Zealand and all Air New Zealand operated International Lounges. The pass may be used when departing on the day of travel when travelling on eligible Air New Zealand ticketed and operated flights. All you need to do is present your Silver lounge pass (or Silver membership card if you have an eVoucher) to one of our lounge concierges. A Silver member may use both lounge passes for themselves and a travel companion departing on the same day of travel, at all Air New Zealand operated lounges if space is available, when travelling on eligible Air New Zealand ticketed and operated flights.
Gold members have access to all Koru Lounges within New Zealand and Air New Zealand operated International Lounges prior to departure. They can also bring one guest into these lounges, subject to space, on Star Alliance ticketed and operated flights. In addition, they have access with one travelling companion to Star Alliance Gold Lounges worldwide. Access to United Red Carpet Clubs, US Airways Clubs and US Airways Envoy Lounges within the United States is only permitted when presenting a ticket or boarding pass in conjunction with international travel.
Elite members enjoy the same lounge privileges as Gold members, with the additional right to bring up to five guests (subject to space) into Koru and Air New Zealand International Lounges or one guest into regional or Star Alliance lounges.
As an Elite or Gold member, to access these lounges prior to departing on an eligible flight, you will need to present your Airpoints membership card, and you and your guests will need to present your same-day Air New Zealand or Star Alliance boarding passes at the lounge reception.
In addition to our Koru Lounge at the Christchurch Domestic Terminal we also have Koru Express in the Christchurch Regional Terminal. Koru Express has been especially designed so regional travellers can still enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks, even when they don’t have time to visit the Koru Lounge upstairs. If you’re an Elite, Elite Partner, Gold or Koru member who’d like to visit Koru Express, simply scan your Airpoints card or e-Ticket at the entrance gate. We are sorry but guests and children cannot be accommodated and complimentary passes cannot be used in Koru Express as access is via an electronic gate and for members only.
Please also note that Koru lounge access is not available for customers travelling on our late night Nightrider services between Auckland and Wellington (NZ498 Auckland to Wellington and NZ499 Wellington to Auckland).
Please see Koru Terms and Conditions for further information.
Regardless of your class of travel, once boarding commences, you can board at your leisure on Air New Zealand and most Star Alliance flights.
