On arrival in Christchurch you will be met and transferred to your accommodation for a night’s stay, with the remainder of the afternoon to explore Christchurch at your leisure.
Start the next day early when you are met and transferred on a scenic drive to Queenstown via Mount Cook. Travel through diverse farmland to Lake Tekapo, where you can view the solitary Church of the Good Shepherd and take in views of the spectacular Southern Alps mountain range. Continue to the location of New Zealand's tallest mountain, Aoraki / Mount Cook where you have time to experience an optional scenic helicopter or ski plane flight (own expense, weather permitting). After lunch, (own expense) continue south through the tawny tussock of the Mackenzie Country to Queenstown.
Enjoy a day at leisure in Queenstown and perhaps join a Safari of the Scenes tour, a wine tasting excursion, a bungy jump or ride the Shotover jet (own expense).
Enjoy a full day excursion to the stunning Milford Sound with informative commentary en-route. Take a relaxing nature cruise with spectacular view of waterfalls, rainforests, mountains and wildlife. There is free time to explore points of interest before returning to Queenstown by road.
Travel to the west coast of New Zealand across the stunning Haast Pass to Fox Glacier for a night’s stay. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure or perhaps take a scenic flight over the Glacier for a bird’s eye view (own expense).
Continue north up the west coast to Greymouth by coach and board the scenic TranzAlpine train back to Christchurch. Ascend the Alps through sub-tropical rainforest and past beautiful Lake Brunner and through the Otira Tunnel to Arthurs Pass. Follow the Waimakariri River and cross patchwork farmlands before your arrival into Christchurch.
Enjoy one last night in Christchurch before being transferred to Christchurch Airport for your return flight back to Los Angeles aboard Air New Zealand.
